The ten acre pond on Larry's Chadwick's 100 acre stretch of property may well be it's most dominant feature. Yes, in the surrounding woods there are endlessly beautiful trails to meander down, and pine trees planted in the 1800's to marvel at, but there is just something about water. The way water sounds in the wind or under a boat is just magical, or the way it looks at any time of day, or any time of year for that matter, just has a way to bring peace to your soul.
Yet, Larry's iconic Pond was not a natural occurrence. Nearly 40 years ago, it was built (or dug out might be more accurate) by Larry himself with the help of a bulldozer-owning friend. Below is Larry's brief telling of how it all happened. Enjoy.
